Guest Blog: Create Your Own Personal Look

Hi everyone! One of my favorite fashion bloggers is back again with a guest post article that will knock your socks off! Want to learn how to create your own personal look? Keep reading!

I always thought eventually my fashion choices would lean more towards one type or another of style. While I love preppy fashion with clean lines, I also love leather jackets and combat boots, but don’t forget the floral, feminine patterns!

As you can see I never did end up subscribing to a certain style and have instead focused my attention on creating a wardrobe I love which just so happens to look like a rebel ballerina who went to private school and really likes shiny things, haha! Whatever your style may be I think this post will definitely come in handy for you as you try and develop it more.

Create Your Own Personal Look: The Hows and Whys

Next time you go out, take a look around and see how many original people you see. Not many, be sure of that. We live in the time where everyone is trying to be a copy of someone else – celebrities, influencers, style icons – so seeing someone who’s at least a bit different might be a challenging endeavour. It’s not a secret that every single one of us is attracted to originality and personality, so why do we have so many people with the identical personal look? Even though it’s impossible to be original in every single aspect, there are some things that you can do in order to create your own personal look. Take a look at this list and choose your weapon for originality.

This category, being the most important in creating your own personal look, is a double-edged sword. You’ll either succeed in making your own signature fashion look, or look like every other girl who wants to be in trend. To make the first one happen, make sure to get out of your wardrobe rut. Open your wardrobe and throw away all the things that make you ordinary. Then, take your bag and go shopping.

Since it’s very important to determine your style as you don’t want to be all over the place, you should know what the things that look good on you are. Here you can try a plethora of choices – you can start rocking the pin-up style, athleisure, smart look, but make sure to always buy garments that are original and not at all dull. Of course, you should always have minimalistic pieces of clothing in your wardrobe, but combine them with some outstanding pieces to make your own look that you’ll be known for.

Furthermore, the condition of your skin, face and body is equally important. It doesn’t necessarily have to be the best ever, but it’s very important to pay attention to the way you present yourself to the world. That is why eating healthy is very important – that way, you won’t let any toxins stay in your body and the glow on your face will be radiating.

Using vitamin supplements such as Vitamin C and Vitamin E should also be among your top priorities. Exercising is also a very good option for changing yourself. However, maybe the most important things as far as beauty is concerned is makeup. Make sure to use a makeup style that looks good on you, and if you have difficulties choosing the right style, make sure to get confidence-boosting beauty tips either online or from a professional.

However, one of the best options to make yourself stand out and be original and different is by opting for different tattoos. Tattoos are a worldwide modern phenomenon and millennials in Australia have embraced it as their defining mark. Since inking yourself has become an extra popular thing among Aussies, choosing a tattoo that you want and like can be very good, especially because there’s little chance you’ll end up with the same tattoo as someone else. Getting, for example, great Japanese tattoos in Sydney might give you that special something that you strive for. Each person that opts for a tattoo wants to tell their story, and thus, each person is different, making one’s personal look even more unique.

If you, however, are not for such radical changes as inking yourself, using accessorizing to make your own signature look is a good way to go. Simply make sure to know what accessories look chic on you, combine them well with the attire you’re wearing and there you go. Since you don’t want to mix accessories that don’t go well together, asking a professional or somebody who knows about this stuff is a good idea. There is a plethora of jewellery options nowadays, some of which are very minimalistic and indie, so go for that and you won’t be making a mistake.

Last but not the least – the hairdo. The weapon we always turn to when we want to add a special touch to our look. Since your hair is very important for presenting yourself, make sure to use all the top-notch hair products there are and, that way, keep your hair glowing and healthy. Moreover, choose the best hairdo for the shape of your face, and make sure it matches your personality. If something can make you original and stand out, why not be Becky with the good hair?

Originality and imagination are the key in order to create your own personal look that nobody can steal away from you. Why? Because it’s only yours, and you are the only person who can rock it since you tailored it for yourself. Be different, be you.

  1. Well written and very true. There seems to be a globally accepted “fashion uniform” and people around the world end up dressing very similar. Finding your own style is a fun long journey.

It is a fun journey! I always thought that I’d fine my style and that would be it, but it just constantly evolves and changes. So exciting!

I can totally relate. You want your own look, but you also don’t want to stand out “too much”. I sometimes push the bounds with clothing I’m not totally comfortable with, but most of the time I stick with my leather jackets thrown over something girly, haha.

Whats funny is as a young kid I swore I’d never get any tattoos, I thought they looked “trashy” But as an adult I love them I see them as a beautiful way to decorate your body. I have 4 so far and cant wait ti get more!

Haha, I can understand that. I waited forever to get my first tattoo because I couldn’t settle on something and didn’t want to get something just because. Now I have three, but each of them mark a super important part of my life. I love them!

  4. I find accessories are a great way for me to customize my signature look. I also went through a phase of being known for my daily use of red lipstick (Russian Red, from Mac), and ’60s-meets-modern way of dressing.

I’m a big fan of accessories because you can wear similar outfits that look totally different once you’ve accessorized. Those sound like adorable looks!

I never thought of it that way; You have great insight! I definitely have passed on different clothing items because I thought it might stand out too much. More so in my teenage-hood than now, but I still find those tiny fears creep up once in awhile.

  8. I think you should follow something only because it is in the fashion. A trend is always for people, people may or may not be for that trend! Comfort is the best fashion. You should wear what you can carry off well with absolutely no compromise on your comfort factor.
